Miriam's Robot Best Friend
The package arrived on a rainy Saturday with no return address. Inside was a small robot, no bigger than a lunchbox, with two blinking green eyes and a label that read: "BUDDY — Model 7. Teach me everything." Miriam pressed the power button, and Buddy whirred to life.

That night, as Miriam drifted off to sleep, Buddy pulled the blanket up gently over their shoulders. His programming didn't require it. But he did it anyway. Because he had finally learned what it means to care.
