Maya was exploring the misty valley when she spotted a enormous triceratops stuck between two boulders, thrashing and roaring with frustration.

"Go away!" it bellowed, its three horns glinting in the sunlight.

Most kids would have run. But Maya noticed the dinosaur's leg was trapped, and it was hurt. She took a deep breath and stepped closer.

"I know you're scared," Maya said softly. "I want to help."

The triceratops snorted, suspicious. But Maya didn't leave. Instead, she found a sturdy branch and carefully worked it under the boulder. "Push when I lift," she instructed.

Together, they freed the dinosaur's leg. It stood shakily, then turned to Maya with surprising gentleness, lowering its head.

"Thank you," it rumbled, its anger completely gone.

"You just needed someone to care," Maya smiled.

The triceratops nuzzled her cheek, and from that day on, they were the best of friends. Sometimes, Maya learned, showing kindness to someone grumpy or scared is the bravest thing you can do—and it changes everything.
