Gil stood in blocky Arena One, creatures collected and ready to battle. He'd trained for the Great Creature Collection Battle Royale for weeks.

But something strange happened: he accidentally *befriended* his first creature—a grumpy toad named Theodore—by complimenting its warts instead of commanding it to attack.

To his shock, Theodore battled *magnificently*. For him!

Gil's competitor laughed. "Toad's supposed to be terrifying! You're broken!"

But Gil's friend Ozzy the ostrich hopped over. "Dude, that's not broken. That's beautiful."

Nervous, Gil took a breath and pushed forward—trusting his heart and believing something bigger was guiding him. He named each creature. He listened to them. The other fighters mocked him mercilessly.

Then came the finals. Gil's army of *willing* creatures shone brilliantly. They moved like they were dancing. Champion Chloe's forced creatures were exhausted.

Gil won.

But he didn't celebrate for himself. He turned to Chloe, nervous but honest: "I... I think we've been playing wrong. What if kindness *is* the strategy?"

Chloe's eyes widened.

Ozzy cheered. Gil had repaired something bigger than a game—he'd shown everyone that believing in yourself and trusting kindness actually *wins*.

Sometimes courage looks like loving your creatures.
